Matthew Schreiber, Vortex. Miami Planetarium. 2015
Matthew Schreiber produces artwork in a wide variety of media, including performance, sculpture, and video that have been informed by his investigations into holography and light.
Schreiber does not create “lighting” for performance. Light becomes an essential sculptural and narrative element in collaborative and in solo projects.
The content of much of this work is invisible (and impossible to record or represent here). The technical manipulation spans, Pepper’s Ghost, strobe, dark adaption, binaural audio, and generative programming. The work is always sculptural, in that it is an object that sits within a space or alters the architecture of a space.
