The Florescent pieces started out as performance work with 500watts (per hour) that was build in front of a live audience.
It was after the completion of 500watts that Schreiber realized the perceptual direction this work could take. For example, in 500watts (per hour), the white tubes are so bright that the black center of the wall is impossible to see. It becomes a hole. This is impossible to photograph.
This work does not use sequencing, dimming or any other time based manipulation.
